FAQ

Short answers to the questions operators ask most about licensing, connectivity, Google, Uneekor, help buttons, overrides and bookings.

Do I need one licence per PC?

Yes. A licence is activated against a PC's Machine ID, and the standard licence allows one activation. Each bay PC needs its own. If you run several bays, contact support@neutrocorp.com about licences for all of them. See Licensing & activation.

What happens if the internet drops?

The licence keeps working for 7 days on its last token and renews when the connection returns. In Reservation Mode the calendar sync fails and shows an error, but the bay keeps working from the bookings it already has, which cover the next 7 days. Bookings made or cancelled while offline are picked up when the connection returns.

Can I use my own Google Cloud project?

Yes, but you do not need to. Open Google Calendar → Advanced, fill in both Client ID and Client secret, and click Connect Google Account. If only one is filled in, the built-in sign-in is used.

Does it work with GSPro, Uneekor, or other software?

PIN mode works with any program: enter its name on Kiosk Mode. In Reservation Mode, Launch & Uneekor can click the GSPro tile in the Uneekor Launcher, start GSPro directly, or start Uneekor VIEW and GSPro together. For anything else choose Nothing — software is already running and let your own launcher handle it.

What is Advanced Mode?

An optional second button on the welcome screen, under Tap to start, that opens Uneekor VIEW's swing feedback beside GSPro. Turn it on under Offer a "View / GSPro" Advanced Mode button on Launch & Uneekor; it needs the Uneekor GSPro tile launch option. If every session should have VIEW, pick the Uneekor VIEW + GSPro launch option instead.

Why does the Uneekor Launcher restart at 4 AM?

The Launcher can stop responding after several days without a restart. The SimLock-NightlyLauncherRestart task restarts it every night at 4:00 AM, skipping itself if a session is running. See Launch & Uneekor.

What does a golfer see if the launch monitor is off?

With the Uneekor launch options, the standby screen changes to "Please call for assistance" with a Try Again button. Switch the launch monitor on and tap Try Again. See Troubleshooting.

Can golfers fix stuck software themselves?

Yes, if you turn on the help button on In-Session Help. It floats over the simulator during play and offers the restarts you choose — for example "Shots not reading" restarts the GSPro connector — plus your phone number.

Can golfers bypass the lock screen?

While it runs, the lock screen blocks the Windows key, Alt+Tab, Alt+F4, Alt+Esc and Ctrl+Esc. The installer's kiosk hardening also disables Task Manager, Lock, Change Password, user switching and sign-out, and keeps the PC awake. The ways through are the ones you set: the unlock code, menu buttons that unlock, and the Manager Override password. Five wrong codes pause the keypad for 30 seconds. Change the default code and password on Security.

What does Manager Override do?

It asks for the admin password, closes the lock screen, relaxes kiosk hardening and keeps the bay unlocked until you relock it with Lock Kiosk in the Admin header or Launch Lock Screen / End Maintenance Mode on the tray icon. In Reservation Mode, an override that was already on when a booking starts ends by itself.

Can I copy one bay's settings to another?

Yes: Export Settings… on Backup on the first bay, Import Settings… on the next. The licence, this bay's calendar and the Google sign-in are never copied; set those on each bay.

Can I run SimLock on more than one bay?

Install and activate it on each bay PC. On every bay set This bay's calendar to that bay's calendar and tick the other bays under Other bays' calendars, so a golfer who has played on any bay is recognised on all of them.

What happens with back-to-back bookings?

When one booking ends and the next is already active: if the first golfer tapped Start, the session-ended screen shows for 5 seconds, the software is closed, and the next golfer's welcome screen appears. If the first golfer never tapped Start, the next welcome screen appears straight away.

What happens when a booking is cancelled during play?

After the next sync the booking is gone, and the bay treats that like the end time passing: session-ended screen, software closed. If the golfer had not tapped Start, the bay simply returns to idle.

Is the intro video streamed from YouTube?

No. Download Video from Link turns a YouTube link into a file on the bay, C:\ProgramData\SimLock\Videos\tutorial.mp4. If no file exists, the video step is skipped.

Does the lock screen keep running during a session?

Yes. In Reservation Mode it hides when the golfer starts, keeps Alt+Tab and the Windows key blocked, and comes back at the booked end time.

Where do I find the version?

In the Admin header ("Version X.Y.Z"), in the bottom-right corner of the lock screen, and in the tray icon's tooltip.

Where is my data stored?

Settings are in C:\ProgramData\SimLock\config.json (with the previous save in config.json.bak). Customers, synced bookings and the activity log are in customers.db in the same folder. Videos are in Videos, logos and pictures in Assets.
